RecentlyPostedJobs vs CareerBuilder
Why RecentlyPostedJobs is better than CareerBuilder at finding newly posted software, data science and AI jobs.
Another general destination board with resume search — not an employer-ATS first-seen tracker.
| When you are looking | CareerBuilder | RecentlyPostedJobs |
|---|---|---|
| Where jobs come from | CareerBuilder posts and partners | Official career portals |
| What “new” means | When it was uploaded to CareerBuilder | ATS first-published, last 7 days |
| Same job posted again | Partner copies allowed | One id, one first-seen date |
| Where you apply | CareerBuilder or employer | Employer job page |
| Role mix | All occupations | Software, data science, and AI |
What CareerBuilder is
CareerBuilder sells job posts and access to a resume database. Listings are whatever employers and partners uploaded. Like other destination boards, it optimizes for fill-rate and employer tools, not for the first hour a Greenhouse job is public.
Why that is a weaker way to find new jobs
You cannot treat CareerBuilder recency as the employer’s first-published date. Software roles share the page with every other function, and staffing partners can duplicate reqs. That is a poor way to find jobs that opened this week on the career site.
Why RecentlyPostedJobs is better
- Career-site source of truth, not a destination-board upload.
- SWE/DS/AI filter before the list renders.
- Stable requisition ids across scrapes.
- Free to browse; bookmarks stay in your browser.
- We do not host CVs or sell candidate contact data. The product is the first-seen list.
- Partner copies cannot manufacture a second “new” software job from the same employer id.
