Cobol iSeries IT Staff Engineer

Day-to-day: Candidates will be able to provide technical analysis, support, and programming for the department. Lead solutioning discussions by working with product team to translate business requirements into technical solutions Take ownership and coordinate cross-functional tasks with other teams and drive projects to completion Communicate with team and stakeholders trade-offs for design choices Work with architects to define future state of applications and work with team to evolve towards that future state Innovate and drive adoption of new tools and capabilities Team AI Champion for SDLC/PDLC improvements Guide and mentor team members by providing feedback and coaching, especially during challenging situations. Encourage people to challenge themselves and help others stretch their capabilities Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related field Experience 10 years with at least 8 years programming and 5 years analysis. Complete SDLC Project Knowledge Excellent communications skills Preferred experience includes: iSeries Development Expertise in technologies such as ILE COBOL, ILE CL, C & database DB2 Knowledge of iSeries API's, Data queues, User queues, multithreading, Journaling and IBM iSeries file systems such as Library based system etc The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of interactive screen development. Experience with SQL and MQ Series is a plus Perform complex application programming activities on iSeries ILE COBOL, ILE CL, database DB2 Lead the definition of system architecture and detailed solution design that are scalable and extensible Collaborate with cross functional team and other engineers/developers on different permutations to find the best solution possible Lead a project/program from initiation to delivery and warranty Own the quality of code and do your own testing Participate in design and code review process Flexible and willing to accept change in priorities, multitask as necessary Mentor and guide junior developers on the team Experience incorporating AI tools into day-to-day process for improved efficiency and quality Who we Are OneMain Financial (NYSE: OMF) is the leader in offering nonprime customers responsible access to credit and is dedicated to improving the financial well-being of hardworking Americans.
