Backend Architecture and Modernization:
Lead AWS-based backend modernization, balancing compute, data, messaging, and integration trade-offs. Reduce vendor coupling and complexity, build reusable servicing capabilities, and enable independent team delivery while maintaining security and operational stability.
Distributed Systems and Servicing Integrity:

Engineering Excellence:
Champion automated testing, CI/CD, secure coding, observability, performance, and production readiness. Establish reusable patterns and documentation.
Mentorship and Development:
Coach engineers and emerging technical leaders in system design, problem-solving, and technical decision-making. Create opportunities for others to independently lead complex engineering work.
Cross-Team Collaboration:
Partner with Engineering Leaders, Product, Architecture, Security, and Platform teams to clarify requirements, resolve technical dependencies, and shape technical roadmaps.
Operational Ownership:
Drive technical improvements that reduce recurring incidents, simplify architecture, and address technical debt while balancing delivery needs with long-term maintainability.

AWS: Experience designing and implementing backend solutions on AWS, with familiarity with Amazon EKS, AWS Lambda, Amazon SQS, and supporting AWS services.
System Design: Strong understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, service integration, relational and NoSQL data stores, and reliability patterns.
Production Engineering: Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, troubleshooting, and secure software development.
Technical Leadership: Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, lead design discussions, and influence technical decisions across teams without formal authority.
Soft Skills:
Ability to turn ambiguous business and technical problems into clear, practical engineering plans.
Strong communication skills, including explaining architectural decisions and trade-offs to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Collaborative leadership, constructive feedback, and a commitment to developing others.
Sound judgment in balancing delivery speed, operational risk, and long-term engineering quality.
