We are building a new team in Krakow. Our employees work fully from the office with the possibility to work remotely occasionally. EBS is a rapidly expanding, entrepreneurial technology company and part of Alarm.com. Alarm.com is the leading cloud-based platform for smart security and the Internet of Things. More than 7.6+ million home and business owners depend on our solutions every day to make their properties safer, smarter, and more efficient. We’re innovating new technologies in rapidly evolving spaces including AI, video analytics, facial recognition, machine learning, energy analytics, and more. Do you enjoy working across diverse products and building cool, impactful features? As a Software Engineer II, you'll have the opportunity to do exactly that. Alarm.com is a leading IoT company, and as part of the Video Team, you'll help drive features that power millions of commercial and residential properties worldwide. Alarm.com's product ecosystem spans video, automation, access control, energy management, and more. In this role, your work will be centered on the Video domain, designing and delivering robust, scalable software solutions that make homes smarter, safer, and more efficient through intelligent video monitoring. You will have the opportunity to shape how millions of users experience video, enhancing existing capabilities while pushing the boundaries of what intelligent monitoring can do. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Write and maintain high-quality C#/.NET back-end code across the Video domain—including device lifecycle management and device-based features—along with the customer-facing web UIs built on top of it. Own features end-to-end, taking them from ambiguous requirements through design, implementation, testing, release, and production support, and seeking out information and context as needed to deliver good outcomes. Exercise good judgment. Know when to work quickly, and when to build a robust solution. Participate actively in design discussions and code reviews, both receiving feedback and providing thoughtful, constructive review on peers' work. Debug and troubleshoot issues across environments, applying reasoning to identify root causes and deliver durable fixes. AI-Fluent Engineering Use AI-assisted development tools as a consistent part of your engineering workflow. Validate AI-generated code rigorously before it reaches production: review for correctness, edge cases, security implications, and long-term maintainability. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience 2+ years of professional software development experience Strong object-oriented programming skills; professional C#/.NET experience preferred Experience with a modern front-end framework such as Ember or React Experience with SQL databases, including DML operations, stored procedures, and writing performant queries through indexing and batching Experience with creating and maintaining unit tests Demonstrated ability to take ownership of work end-to-end, from design through delivery NICE TO HAVES Familiarity with microservices architecture Familiarity with distributed systems, event-driven architecture, or messaging technologies Experience working with IoT and hardware Experience with observability, logging, error handling, and monitoring in production systems Experience integrating AI-assisted development tools into a professional engineering workflow WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Collaborate with outstanding people: We have a strong focus on teamwork, and we work to create a collaborative and welcoming environment that enables our teams to excel. Make an immediate impact: You can expect to be given real responsibility for bringing new technologies to the marketplace. You will be empowered to perform as soon as you join the team! Be Empowered: We don't want to micro-manage you. We want you to own stuff and bring your experience to make those products the best in class. Work with the Latest Technologies : Gain exposure to a broad spectrum of IoT and SaaS technologies, including C#, .NET, SQL Server, Kafka, React, Ember, and more. Long-term employment based on a permanent employment contract (CoE). Attractive benefits package: including medical care, life insurance, sports package, annual budget for professional development ($2,000).
