Senior Software Engineer, AI/ML

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. The Zagreb Search Education (EDU) team is focused on building robust and scalable solutions based on AI technologies that fuel Google's Search and Lens products. We also contribute to development of AI models that can understand complex concepts, personalize learning experiences, and connect learners with the information they need, precisely when they need it. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Croatia: €90000 - €92000 (EUR) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits Learn more about benefits at Google . Own and drive building AI driven capabilities and features for Search Web and Lens. Define and implement technical vision, strategy, and roadmap. Coordinate, navigate and drive multiple projects and initiatives within your area of responsibility. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across the world and different parts of the organization to drive project delivery. Build and manage a high-performing team, grow individuals and help them achieve outcomes across different projects and areas. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages. 3 years of experience in AI/ML related engineering. 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role with software design and architecture, leading technical design and managing team execution. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field. Experience in developing, deploying, managing, and maintaining machine learning models and infrastructure. Experience in machine learning, building/training AI models, back-end data infrastructure or data engineering. Knowledge of data engineering practices and principles (e.g., tools, processes, pipelines, etc.).
