Technical Program Manager, Foundation Models

Contribute to the successful execution of Gemini pre-training runs via detailed project plans and technical roadmaps. Anticipate potential risks that could impact project timelines or success. Move quickly to unblock research and engineering teams to maintain velocity. Drive organizational efficiency by improving processes, streamlining execution, and implementing automated tooling where applicable. Actively manage compute resources including forecasting, timely reallocation, and making prioritization recommendations to Gemini leads. Work closely with research scientists, engineers, product managers, and infrastructure teams to ensure alignment on priorities and dependencies. Facilitate clear communication and collaboration across these teams. Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, highlighting key milestones and risks. Maintain clear documentation for processes, plans, and project status. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience in technical program or project management in a software or AI environment, including experience in program delivery. Preferred qualifications: Strong technical background, with foundational AI knowledge and direct experience in model development. Strong ability to take ownership and operate proactively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, keeping teams focused and organized amidst evolving priorities. Strong relationship-building and cross-functional collaboration skills, paired with exceptional organization and strict attention to detail. Highly effective at communicating complex technical concepts clearly to teams. Passionate about Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and deeply curious about emerging technologies.
