Job description

Vantor is forging the new frontier of spatial intelligence, helping decision makers and operators navigate what’s happening now and shape what’s coming next. Vantor is a place for problem solvers, changemakers, and go-getters—where people are working together to help our customers see the world differently, and in doing so, be seen differently. Come be part of a mission, not just a job, where you can: Shape your own future, build the next big thing, and change the world. To be eligible for this position, you must be a U.S. Citizen. This position requires an active U.S. Government security clearance, applicants who do not currently hold the required clearance will not be eligible for consideration. Employment for cleared roles is contingent upon verification of clearance status. Export Control/ITAR: Certain roles may be subject to U.S. export control laws, requiring U.S. person status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3). Please review the job details below. This position requires an active U.S. Government Security Clearance at the TS/SCI level and be willing and able to obtain CI polygraph. Vantor is seeking a Geospatial Developer to design, build, and support high-impact geospatial applications, REST integrations, and data pipelines across our enterprise GIS environment. In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical GIS development and business needs, translating functional requirements into scalable web applications, automated geoprocessing services, and advanced data collection tools. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in Esri enterprise architecture—including ArcGIS Enterprise/Portal, ArcGIS Pro, Experience Builder Developer Edition, and Survey123—alongside demonstrated experience exposing geospatial REST services to external enterprise systems, proprietary search engines, and lightweight 3D clients (ArcGIS Earth). Responsibilities: Custom Web & Widget Development Design, build, and maintain custom widgets and extensions using ArcGIS Experience Builder (Developer Edition) (React/TypeScript). Integrate custom widgets with underlying Enterprise Portal web maps, feature services, and geoprocessing tasks. Optimize client-side rendering and user experience (UX) for specialized analytical workflows. Enterprise Services, Geoprocessing & REST Integration Author, publish, and manage robust ArcGIS Enterprise / Portal Services, with an emphasis on custom geoprocessing (GP) tools and spatial analysis web services. Expose and optimize ArcGIS Server/Portal REST endpoints (Feature Services, Map Services, Query Services, and GeoJSON endpoints) for seamless consumption and indexing by proprietary enterprise search engines and external indexing engines. Automate data preparation and back-end tasks using Python (ArcPy, ArcGIS API for Python) to support enterprise analytic services. Dashboard Backends Engineer and maintain optimized data layers, views, and back-end geodatabase architectures in ArcGIS Pro and Portal to power high-performance operational dashboards (ArcGIS Dashboards). Establish automated ETL routines to ensure real-time or near-real-time synchronization between spatial databases and dashboard reporting layers. Advanced Field & Data Collection Systems Architect and implement complex ArcGIS Survey123 forms utilizing advanced XLSForm logic (cascading selects, nested repeats, dynamic calculations, custom validation expressions, and pull data functions). Integrate Survey123 workflows with webhooks, automated notifications, and post-submission geoprocessing tasks. Cross-Portal Migration & Content Governance Plan and execute secure, reliable content and data migrations across disparate ArcGIS Enterprise Portals (e.g., Development Staging Production, or cloud-to-cloud/tenant-to-tenant). Utilize the ArcGIS API for Python to script repeatable migration pipelines for web maps, hosted feature layers, user permissions, and associated assets. Collaborative Workflows & Lightweight GIS Integration Deploy and administer collaborative setups allowing analysts and non-core GIS staff to ingest, view, and manipulate spatial data via ArcGIS Earth. Configure connection profiles, Portal authentication, layer packages, and KML/KMZ service feeds to support rapid analyst data entry and 3D terrain visualization. Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Collaboration Interface directly with cross-departmental stakeholders, analysts, project managers, search platform teams, and technical leads to translate workflows into technical specifications. Minimum Qualifications: Willing to work full-time onsite in Reston, VA Current/active TS/SCI security clearance and have a current CI polygraph. 10 years of experience in Computer Science, GIS, Geography, or a related technical field. 2+ years of experience working with the ArcGIS platform, including ArcGIS Enterprise (Server, Portal, Data Store). Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript (ArcGIS API for JavaScript). Experience developing and deploying web-based GIS applications. Familiarity with RESTful APIs, web services, and ArcGIS Online/Enterprise services. Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS or similar spatial databases. Understanding of spatial data types (vector, raster) and coordinate systems. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure (e.g., S3, EC2, Azure Blob, etc.). Ability to build and troubleshoot data pipelines and ETL processes. Automate the creation of geospatial products and visual representations for users. Experience with Git and version control systems. Strong problem-solving and communication skills(U) (U) . Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field. 4+ years of professional GIS and software development experience. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container/orchestration tools in a geospatial context. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform). Familiarity with ArcPy and geoprocessing services. Understanding of OGC standards (WMS, WFS, GeoJSON, etc.). Knowledge of data governance, metadata standards, and geospatial data quality assurance. Experience working in Agile development teams or DevOps environments. Pay Transparency: To support pay transparency, Vantor includes salary ranges in all U.S. job postings.
