Job Description: THIS POSITION IS HYBRID AND WILL REQUIRE CANDIDATES TO WORK IN THE FOLLOWING UPS IT LOCATIONS: ATLANTA, MARYLAND OFFICE 3 DAYS A WEEK Leads the engineering strategy, architecture, and delivery of digital products and platforms supporting UPS.com and Web Shipping capabilities. Partners with Product Management, Architecture, and cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and customer-focused solutions while driving engineering excellence and talent development. Key Responsibilities Own technical architecture, engineering roadmaps, and technology decisions for assigned products and platforms. Lead software engineering teams to deliver high-quality, reliable, and scalable solutions. Partner with Product Managers to align technical execution with business objectives and customer outcomes. Drive modernization initiatives, cloud adoption, API strategy, DevOps, CI/CD, and engineering best practices. Ensure compliance with security, performance, scalability, and reliability standards. Manage technical debt, engineering backlogs, and platform health. Champion software quality through automated testing, monitoring, and production readiness practices. Collaborate with architects, product managers, and engineering leaders to solve complex technical challenges. Promote innovation, continuous improvement, and adoption of emerging technologies. Develop and mentor engineers, fostering a high-performance and inclusive culture. Qualifications Proven experience leading software engineering teams in large-scale digital platforms. Ten plus years of strong expertise in software architecture, cloud technologies, APIs, microservices, and DevOps practices. Experience delivering customer-facing web and mobile applications. Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. Experience with Agile and Lean software development methodologies. Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on technical leadership. Strong alignment between business goals, customer needs, and technology strategy. Preferred Experience Shipping technology, logistics, transportation, or e-commerce platforms. Customer-facing applications supporting shipment creation, tracking, profile management, payment, rating, and fulfillment experiences. Legacy modernization and platform transformation initiatives.
