What We're Looking For: The purpose of this internship is to prepare students for entry into the business world by providing a thorough understanding of the various functions of the Zebra Technologies organization. The program is designed to provide students with experiences that provide insights into a career with Zebra. Students will be positioned for success with training and hands-on experiences, invited to social and development activities, and provided a professional mentor relationship. Workcloud Professional Services provides data engineering, data science and ML/AI engineering services in the context of implementing, deploying, maintaining and continually improving Zebra Workcloud SaaS supply chain, inventory visibility and workforce management solutions deployed to customers’ production environments. Team members will develop an understanding of retail & CPG industries along with an appreciation for the various business process workflows that our solutions enable. US Summer Internship Benefits: Summer Fridays, As Applicable With Your Team 30+ Social and Professional Events in 12 Weeks Global Immersion With Your Teams and Interns Intern Allowance (when applicable) Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Customer Engagements: Every customer engagement has a need for core data engineering and data science skill sets in the context of data discovery/understanding, data transformations, feature engineering, model development and models explainability. Agentic AI Automation & Innovation: Our teams are also expanding the use of Agentic AI utilities and toolsets. In this context, interns may contribute to the design, development, deployment and training of the user community around these Agentic AI utilities Ongoing Continuous Improvements: Continuous improvements are a cornerstone of our relationships with our customers. It recognizes that Data Science & ML/AI activity do not end once the SaaS software solutions have been implemented and deployed to the customers’ production environment. There is always room for improvement in the performance of the models. In this context, root cause diagnostics, models experimentations, internal/external data enrichment and feature enrichments are important elements of the continuous improvement services we deliver to our customers. Interns can expect to be engaged in such activities as well, so that they experience the full spectrum of our team’s contributions This position requires hybrid work (3 days/week in office) in the Lincolnshire, IL or Holtsville, NY office. Required Qualifications: Current enrollment in an graduate degree program in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence or related discipline. Must have an anticipated graduation date between 2027-2029. Must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future Preferred Qualifications: Exposure to cloud services platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP, AWS) including resource optimization, Databricks (Spark, Delta-Live tables, Medallion data architecture, Unity Catalog, Delta Share, MLFlow, parallel/distributed computing, etc.), TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, CatBoost, TiDE, DenseNet, TimesGPT, Chronos, NBEATSx neural forecasting models, SHAP models’ explainability, Ray distributed computing. Familiarity with Time Series data and related Retail/CPG use cases such as Demand Forecasting, Inventory Allocation, Assortment Mix & Merchandize Planning, Size & Pack Optimization, Retail Shrink/Fraud/Anomaly Detection, Workforce Management, Scheduling and Task Optimization is preferred, but not mandatory.
