Job description

Job Description Summary We are seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Systems Engineer to lead the design, development, architecture, integration, verification and lifecycle support of complex electronic products and subsystems. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in mixed-signal electronics, embedded processing, power and battery systems, wireless technologies, communication interfaces, PCB development, EMC/EMI, reliability and electrical safety, combined with strong Systems Engineering thinking and product-level problem solving. The successful candidate will drive engineering deliverables across NPI, Installed Base, VCP, component obsolescence, compliance and advanced technology development, while collaborating with Systems, Software/Firmware, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, Service and suppliers. The role requires strong capability in system integration, wireless development and debugging, root-cause analysis and technical leadership, with opportunities to contribute to system architecture, platform development, reusable solutions and AI-enabled engineering transformation. Job Description Roles & Responsibilities Lead electrical hardware development end-to-end , from requirements and architecture through detailed design, prototyping, verification, qualification, production release and lifecycle support. Translate system and product requirements into electrical requirements, architectures, interfaces and design specifications , ensuring effective requirements flow-down, traceability and verification. Design and technically review complex electronic hardware , including mixed-signal, analogue, embedded digital, processor/SoC, power, battery/charging, communication and high-speed interface circuits, including component selection, schematic design and PCB development. Lead system-level engineering trade-offs across performance, EMC/EMI, signal and power integrity, thermal performance, safety, reliability, manufacturability, testability, serviceability and cost, with proactive identification and mitigation of technical risks. Lead hardware integration, board bring-up, debugging, characterisation and verification , applying structured root-cause analysis to resolve complex board, subsystem and product-level technical issues. Lead wireless hardware design, development and integration for technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE wireless solutions , including RF architecture/interface design, wireless module/chipset selection, antenna integration, RF layout considerations, regulatory constraints and hardware/firmware interfaces. Drive design quality, reliability and compliance through technical/design reviews, DFMEA, tolerance and worst-case analysis, component derating, risk assessments, design-change impact analysis and robust verification strategies. Own Installed Base and product-lifecycle engineering , including field and manufacturing investigations, CAPA support, reliability improvements, component obsolescence, alternate-part qualification, engineering changes and VCP/design-to-value initiatives. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Sourcing and suppliers on DFM/DFT, production testing, yield improvement, supplier transfers, second sourcing, component roadmaps and resolution of manufacturing and supplier-related technical issues. Contribute to future product and platform architecture through Advanced Technology Development (ATD), technology roadmaps, platform reuse, standardisation and development of scalable and reusable hardware/system solutions. Provide strong technical leadership and drive engineering transformation by independently owning complex deliverables, mentoring engineers, leading cross-functional technical decisions, communicating risks and trade-offs effectively, and leveraging AI-enabled engineering tools to improve engineering quality and productivity. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related engineering discipline. 10+ years of relevant experience in electrical/electronic product design and development, with demonstrated ownership of a product, platform or major subsystem. Strong hands-on expertise in mixed-signal, analogue, embedded digital, processor/SoC, power, battery/charging and communication circuit design . Strong experience in component selection, schematic design, PCB development, board bring-up, integration, testing, debugging and structured root-cause analysis . Knowledge and hands-on experience with wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE, UWB or other short-range wireless technologies , including hardware integration, RF interfaces, antenna considerations, coexistence and wireless performance evaluation. Good understanding of EMC/EMI, signal and power integrity, RF/wireless design considerations, electrical safety, thermal design, reliability, component derating and PCB design principles . Experience taking hardware through the complete product lifecycle , including requirements flow-down, architecture/design, verification and qualification, manufacturing transfer, engineering changes and lifecycle support, with demonstrated Systems Engineering and product-level thinking. Strong technical leadership, independent ownership, troubleshooting and communication skills , with the ability to debug complex hardware, wireless connectivity and system-integration issues and work effectively across global teams, suppliers and manufacturing partners. Preferred Qualifications Experience developing medical devices, medical electrical equipment or other regulated, safety-critical or high-reliability products . Familiarity with IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-2-25 , DFMEA, risk management, tolerance/worst-case analysis and reliability engineering. Practical experience in wireless product development and debugging , including RF performance evaluation, antenna integration, link-quality/range issues, interference and coexistence, connectivity failures and hardware/firmware interaction. Experience with Installed Base support, CAPA, field investigations, VCP/design-to-value, component obsolescence, alternate-part qualification , and contribution to hardware/system architecture, ATDs or platform development. Exposure to BLE/Wi-Fi-enabled products, battery technologies, embedded computing platforms, hardware-related cybersecurity and AI-assisted engineering tools/workflows . Desired Characteristics Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills. Note: To comply with US immigration and other legal requirements, it is necessary to specify the minimum number of years’ experience required for any role based within the USA.
