Infrastructure Engineer Intern

Garda is seeking to hire an Infrastructure Engineer Intern to join our Infrastructure team based in our Wayzata office in the summer of 2027 . This is an exciting position that offers hands-on exposure to enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, and mission-critical systems at a global hedge fund. Position Responsibilities Assist with Infrastructure as Code initiatives using Terraform/OpenTofu and CloudFormation Support cloud infrastructure projects across AWS and Azure environments Work with senior team members and managed service providers to support on-premise server infrastructure Contribute to monitoring, alerting, and availability of trading systems Participate in backup, disaster recovery, and infrastructure documentation efforts Support physical infrastructure including audiovisual systems and access control Assist with front-office and enterprise infrastructure support initiatives Example Internship Projects Assist with cloud migration to AWS Support Active Directory domain separation, including the transition from SCCM-managed endpoints to Intune-managed endpoints and related infrastructure changes Help improve new-user onboarding, including account setup, device provisioning, and documentation Automate repeatable infrastructure and support processes using scripts and workflows Assist with network segmentation initiatives Qualifications & Desired Skills Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) or strong interest in learning Familiarity with at least one scripting or programming language (Python, PowerShell, or similar) Interest in infrastructure automation, DevOps, and cloud technologies Basic understanding of networking and operating systems Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work effectively in a high-energy, time-sensitive team environment Candidate Privacy Notice Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education. Hourly Compensation for this role is expected to be between: $40 — $40 USD
