What You'll Do Amazon Software Development Engineers recognize and adopt best practices in software engineering: design, testing, version control, documentation, build, deployment, and operations. Key job responsibilities • Understand the business impact of your systems and demonstrate good judgment when making technical trade-offs between short-term business or operational needs and long-term technology needs • Serve as a key influencer in team strategy, bringing perspective and providing context for current and future technology choices • Make appropriate architectural trade-offs and take ownership of team architecture, providing system-wide design guidance • Drive simplicity in design and engineering best practices (e.g., Operational Excellence, Security, Quality) • Set engineering standards and, when confronted with differing viewpoints, find the best path forward and build consensus • Actively recruit talent and help others grow by coaching and mentoring within your organization About the team Our team is part of Amazon's Finance Automation organization.
