TransUnion's Job Applicant Privacy Notice Team Overview Data Acquisition team is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Java Developer with 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Java technologies, microservices architecture, cloud platforms, and modern software development practices. The candidate will be responsible for delivering scalable, high-performance solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week. Role Overview And Core Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance Java applications. Develop and implement RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot and related frameworks. Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions. Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, architects, and QA teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions. Conduct code reviews and promote development best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues with a focus on performance and reliability. Optimize application performance, scalability, and maintainability. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and support DevOps initiatives. Lead the end-to-end java development for a region and deliver solutions as per the requirements. Prepare technical documentation, design specifications, and operational runbooks. Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership within the team. Required Knowledge And Experiences Technical Skills 7-10 years of experience in Java application development. Strong proficiency in: Java 8/11/17/21 Spring Framework Spring Boot Spring MVC Spring Security Hibernate / JPA RESTful Web Services Experience with Microservices Architecture and API-driven development. Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as: Oracle PostgreSQL MySQL SQL Server Experience with messaging technologies: Kafka RabbitMQ Familiarity with caching technologies such as Redis or Hazelcast. Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools: Docker Kubernetes / OpenShift Experience with cloud platforms such as: AWS Azure Google Cloud Platform (GCP) - Preferred Hands-on experience with build and deployment tools: Maven Gradle Jenkins Harness GitHub Actions Strong understanding of design patterns, object-oriented programming, and software engineering principles. Development Practices Agile/Scrum development methodologies. Test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing. CI/CD implementation and DevOps practices. Code quality tools such as SonarQube and Checkmarx. Version control systems such as Git. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Experience working in banking, financial services, insurance, telecommunications, or large-scale enterprise environments. Exposure to event-driven architecture and distributed systems. Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, or Dynatrace. Java certifications (Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer) are advantageous.
