Required Skills • 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience. • Strong programming skills in Python. • Hands-on experience with Apache Spark (PySpark). • Experience building applications on AWS/Databricks. • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals including: o Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) o Design Patterns o SOLID Principles o Data Structures & Algorithms o Clean Code Practices o Unit Testing • Experience working with NoSQL/Relational Databases. • Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines. • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills. • Good understanding of scalable and reliable software development practices. Nice to Have • Experience building Data Platform or internal platform capabilities. • Experience with Delta Lake and Lakehouse architecture. • Exposure to Generative AI applications. • Experience building RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) solutions. • Experience with Agentic AI workflows. • Exposure to Docker or Kubernetes. What We Value We're looking for engineers who: • Think beyond individual tasks and build reusable solutions. • Take ownership of the features and services they build. • Enjoy solving complex engineering problems. • Write clean, maintainable, production-quality code. • Value automation over manual effort. • Continuously learn and improve engineering practices. Itron is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce and providing an authentic workplace experience for all employees. If you are excited about this role but your past experiences don't perfectly align with every requirement, we encourage you to apply anyway. In the end, you may be just who we are looking for! The successful candidate's starting wage will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience. Itron is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
