Job description
A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
Google's global network powers service delivery for billions of users and next-generation AI infrastructure. Achieving industry-best intervals across network deployment, capacity augmentation, and 24x7 network repair requires disciplined program management paired with deep, direct field operational expertise in hyperscale data center and core optical transport environments.
As a Regional Technical Program Manager in Strategic Workforce Solutions (SWS), you will combine structured program management with direct technical mastery of physical network field work to oversee how our Hyperscale Data Centers, Carrier-Neutral Colocation Points of Presence (PoPs), and Core DWDM/Optical Transport networks are built, maintained, and repaired across your assigned region. You will directly govern third-party field service vendors across high-density optical fiber deployment, rack-and-stack Layer 1–3 hardware installation, equipment decommissioning, and 24x7 break-fix operations, while leading defined global process improvement workstreams. You will use operational telemetry, on-site technical field audits, and commercial Purchase Orders (PO)/SLA governance to ensure our external workforce delivers safely, on time, and within budget.
The AI and Infrastructure team is redefining what’s possible. We empower Google customers with breakthrough capabilities and insights by delivering AI and Infrastructure at unparalleled scale, efficiency, reliability and velocity. Our customers include Googlers, Google Cloud customers, and billions of Google users worldwide.
We're the driving force behind Google's groundbreaking innovations, empowering the development of our cutting-edge AI models, delivering unparalleled computing power to global services, and providing the essential platforms that enable developers to build the future. From software to hardware our teams are shaping the future of world-leading hyperscale computing, with key teams working on the development of our TPUs, Vertex AI for Google Cloud, Google Global Networking, Data Center operations, systems research, and much more.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Netherlands: €102000 - €104000 (EUR) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Manage end-to-end regional network field execution across assigned hyperscale data centers, carrier-neutral colocation Points of Presence (PoPs), and core DWDM/optical transport sites, overseeing third-party vendor performance across high-density structured fiber builds, Layer 1–3 hardware installations, decommissioning, and 24x7 break-fix dispatches.
Lead global program workstreams using structured artifacts (charters, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), roadmaps, risk registers) to standardize field execution.
Oversee vendor operational readiness and quality through technical audits, optical/hardware standard validation, and EHS enforcement.
Drive operational, commercial, and financial discipline, ensuring SLAs, SOWs, POs, accruals, invoicing, and dispatch queues are well maintained.
Collaborate with capacity delivery, supply chain, and partners to remove execution blockers, avoid delays, and increase velocity.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience in technical program management leading physical network infrastructure or telecom operations using charters, WBS, roadmaps, and risk registers.
Experience with physical network field deployment or 24x7 field operations in data centers or Cable Landing Stations (CLS).
Ability to communicate in English fluently to support client relationship management.
Ability to travel internationally up to 50% of the time as required.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience managing third-party vendors and contractors against SLAs and KPIs, including SOWs, POs, accruals, and invoicing.
Experience validating optical network testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance, including OTDR, BERT, OLTS, and fiber standards.
Experience operationalizing vendor site ownership models, conducting physical audits, and driving root-cause corrective actions.
Experience enforcing telecommunications EHS standards, MOP compliance, and live-network safety gates.
Experience using operational data and dashboards to eliminate bottlenecks and improve On-Time Delivery (OTD) and MTTR.
