Job description

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. Our Devices & Services team combines the best of Google AI, Software, and Hardware to create radically helpful experiences for users. We research, design, and develop new technologies and hardware to make our user's interaction with computing faster, seamless, and more powerful. Whether finding new ways to capture and sense the world around us, advancing form factors, or improving interaction methods, the Devices & Services team is making people's lives better through technology. Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand or identify defined work problems and program goals, obtain prioritized deliverables, and discuss program impact. Prioritize program goals, understand and translate other stakeholders needs into program goals and prioritized deliverables with minimal assistance, and contribute to decisions on prioritizing goals and deliverables. Define the scope of projects and develop, execute, or manage project plans for supported programs. Review key metrics pertaining to a program, monitor potential metric deviations, and define corrective actions for critical deviations. Identify, communicate, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders within one or more teams to drive impact and work toward mutual goals. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 2 years of experience in program management within the consumer electronics or an equivalent industry, with a focus on regulatory compliance, testing, and certifications. Experience with deep wireless technologies including WWAN (GSM/WCDMA/LTE/5G/NTN), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, UWB, GPS, etc. Preferred qualifications: 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects. Experience managing and securing key industry certifications (e.g., FCC, CE, ISED, MIC). Technical expertise in global Radio Frequency (RF) compliance standards, including RF metrics, RF exposure evaluation (SAR/MPE) and global compliance certification. Comprehensive understanding of global product certification, industry best practices, and the technical requirements needed to align product designs with regulatory standards. Proven track record of navigating global regulatory processes to successfully launch high volume, mass produced consumer electronics.
