We encourage you to step beyond your comfort zone, offering resources and flexibility to foster your professional and personal growth, all while valuing your unique contributions. We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our Molecular Imaging Research and Development team. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and support embedded software solutions for motion control and safety-critical subsystems within our SPECT Molecular Imaging cameras. You will work closely with electrical, mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams to develop reliable, high-performance solutions that support the safety, functionality, and performance of advanced medical imaging technologies. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on development, solving complex technical challenges, and contributing to products that make a meaningful difference in patient care. You are responsible for: Designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining embedded software for motion control and safety-related subsystems within SPECT Molecular Imaging systems. Driving end-to-end embedded software development activities, including requirements definition, architecture, design, implementation, testing, integration, and ongoing product support. Developing and maintaining software requirements, architecture documentation, design specifications, and technical documentation. Developing, debugging, and optimizing embedded software using programming languages such as C, C++, or C#. Designing and supporting low-level hardware/software interfaces, device drivers, and communication protocols. Developing and implementing motion control functionality, motor tuning, safety mechanisms, and fail-safe error-handling capabilities. Ensuring software designs and implementations conform to applicable safety requirements, development processes, and established engineering standards. Performing unit testing, debugging, and verification activities to ensure software functionality, reliability, and quality. Supporting system-level integration, troubleshooting, and validation of embedded software within complex electromechanical systems. Utilizing hardware debugging and diagnostic tools, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, CAN analyzers, and other specialized instrumentation. Investigating and resolving software and hardware integration issues identified during development, laboratory testing, manufacturing, or field operation. Collaborating with electrical, mechanical, systems, and software engineering teams to evaluate system interactions, technical risks, and product performance. Participating in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, work estimation, technical discussions, and execution of assigned deliverables. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives that enhance software quality, development efficiency, and product reliability. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in embedded software development or a closely related engineering discipline. Experience developing software using C, C++, or C#. Experience with embedded systems, hardware/software integration, and hands-on debugging. Familiarity with low-level hardware interfaces, device drivers, or communication protocols. Experience performing software testing, troubleshooting, and defect resolution. Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into reliable software designs and implementations. Strong understanding of software quality, engineering processes, and technical documentation. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams. Comfortable working in a laboratory environment with hardware prototypes, test equipment, and electromechanical systems. Preferred Qualifications Experience developing embedded software for motion control systems, motor controllers, or complex electromechanical equipment. Familiarity with safety-critical firmware, fault detection, fail-safe mechanisms, and error-handling strategies. Experience with communication interfaces and protocols such as CAN, UART, I2C, or ADC-based hardware interfaces. Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, CAN sniffers, or similar debugging equipment. Experience with motor tuning, motion control algorithms, or real-time control systems. Familiarity with host emulation, diagnostic logging, and system-level troubleshooting. Experience developing software in an Agile or Scrum environment. Experience working in regulated product development environments, particularly medical devices. Familiarity with medical imaging equipment, including SPECT, PET, or other advanced imaging systems. Experience collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
