This role leverages deep technology, process and domain expertise to drive execution across multiple interdependent projects within programs; ensures outcomes delivery on time, within scope and budget and of desired quality. Defines execution standards and processes to be followed by all project managers within the program or department. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Conceptual or theoretical activities related to integration of data science, electronic engineering with computer sciences to design and develop AI-based computer systems and other technological devices; or conceptual or theoretical activities related to the theoretical foundations of information and computation and their implementation and application in computer systems. Includes work focused on computation of specific results; properties of computational problems; challenges in implementing computations Oversee and coordinate projects developing AI/ML capabilities with teams of computer and data science, AI engineering and software professionals as well as others. Requires specialized knowledge within the function. Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation. Lead Agile program execution for cross-functional AI development teams, including backlog management, sprint planning, release planning, dependency management, and delivery tracking. Drive accountability for project milestones, deliverables, and technical objectives across a team of data scientist and AI engineers. Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work. Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision. May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view. Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by identifying strategic partnerships, new technologies, and process enhancements that support scalable growth. Collaborate with business and functional partners and technology leadership in defining functionality and specifying requirements Required Qualifications Master's or PhD in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with at least 4 years experience (or Bachelors in Computer Science or STEM with 8 years of experience) developing complex high technology products Experience working with AI products Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with ability to influence outcomes and organize teams to attain shared goals Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects involving data scientists, software engineers, and other stakeholders, preferably involving medical imaging, clinical AI, or healthcare applications. Demonstrated experience developing and deploying production-grade AI/ML solutions; experience with generative AI technologies is preferred. Understanding of the machine learning development lifecycle. Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, dependency management, and coordination of multiple technical workstreams. Experience managing data collection, annotation, or data governance activities supporting AI/ML development. Experience in medical device development is considered a strong asset. Experience in medical imaging AI development is highly desired Experience in generative AI development and evaluation is desired Background in robotics or automation technologies is advantageous. Background in automated vehicle or robotic guidance is highly desired Demonstrated skill in presentation and influencing skills’ Project or program management certification (PMP, PgMP, Agile, Scrum, or related certification Experience with FDA submissions and regulatory documentation development Experience managing data science teams from data collection through commercial deployment. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
