Job description

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. Google TV is an intuitive interface with the ability to organize content across providers to help users find what they want to watch. It has redefined the TV experience to ensure the entire experience is built around users’ needs and what they love to watch, so they can discover the most interesting content to consume. These experiences are highly personalized, Google-smart, content and voice-forward and powered by AI/ML - helping users access the world’s media and knowledge. Google TV is redefining the TV experience to make it highly personalized, Google-smart, and content-forward to help users access the world’s media. Through recent launches like Chromecast with Google TV, we bring together the best of Google. Google TV is focused on scaling across the OEM ecosystem; working closely with third-party streaming partners plus many teams across Google (for example: Ads, Play, and YouTube); and building a business on TV platforms, OTT devices, and mobile devices. With millions of active users of our products plus being amidst the quickly evolving media and entertainment industry, there are plenty of opportunities for the team and individuals in it. Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple medium-to-large software engineering programs, ensuring technical and operational improvements directly align with organizational OKRs. Drive complex technical projects from requirements to launch, managing schedules, resolving roadblocks, and proactively mitigating risks and dependencies. Partner closely with engineering, product management, UX, data science, and go-to-market teams to define, prioritize, and implement key features, infrastructure, and workflows. Collaborate with engineering directors, product leaders, and TPM groups to simplify execution, establish best practices, and transform the overall operational effectiveness of the organization. Foster shared understanding across teams and communicate program status, technical requirements, and strategic goals effectively to all levels of leadership. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience in program management. Preferred qualifications: Experience managing software engineering/technical portfolios and delivering large-scale business/organizational transformations. Experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects. Experience in leveraging AI tools and technology. Experience with dashboarding and scripting (SQL) to improve automation and processes. Ability to lead technical discussions with engineering leads to resolve complex issues and manage dependencies. Ability to navigate ambiguity with ease while introducing structure.
