The Technology Department at Dimensional leverages the rapidly evolving state of the art to engineer the platforms that power the innovative, research-driven financial and technical products to improve our client’s financial lives. As a Principal Full-Stack Engineer within the Platform Engineering Team you will participate in the design, development and implementation of a quickly evolving ecosystem spanning infrastructure, data, application and security platforms. Our flexible and extensible platform includes on-prem, cloud-based and hybrid solutions. You will have the opportunity to understand our client's needs, collaborate on the design of solutions, and work with emerging engineering tools and best practices. In this role, you will design, develop, document, and test multiple services. A successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical and analytical ability across multiple tech stacks. Additionally, you will bring passion for creating efficiencies and adding controls/reducing risk through automation while optimizing and building applications from the ground up. Are passionate about/stay current with modern technologies/solutions Solve problems systematically and transparently Share ideas, solicit/integrate feedback, design and solve collaboratively Demonstrate engineering and security mindsets What you might work on: Build and deliver technology services in support of the technology platform Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, subject matter experts, and project managers to ensure successful delivery to our customers Lead technical team in design and engineering solutions Participate in design to ensure modern, secure, scalable, best-practice development and operations, e.g., everything as code, zero-trust, etc. Critique and approve code changes for other developers Mentor & develop junior engineers Mature our technology processes Leverage your experience as a Principal Engineer to improve our architecture patterns Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines and develop supportable solutions Improve development practices Write unit/integration tests, contribute to engineering wiki, and write detailed documentation Integrate platform services with existing systems such as ServiceNow Provide technical troubleshooting and support for production systems Collaborate with subject matter experts in a variety of areas to drive the success of our developers, business users, and clients Stay abreast of emerging technologies and partner with technical product owners to define service roadmap Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, math, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience 10+ years of programming experience in Python (open source) or equivalent 5+ years supervising other developers, reviewing and approving code changes through standard SDLC processes Experience with automated acceptance testing and ability to write unit-tested, maintainable code Proficiency in building RESTful APIs and web services Strong understanding of cyber security risks and demonstrated ability to design and build highly secure applications Significant experience working in a dynamic and interactive team environment to build world-class software implementations Proven track record of delivering value and innovation through CI/CD Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service environment Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies with a software development and integration focus Preferred Competencies: Site Reliability Engineering Financial services industry knowledge or experience Experience with: Message Streaming systems, e.g., Kafka GitHub Build Pipelines, e.g., GitHub Actions, Team City Airflow PostrgeSQL Ansible Messaging & Queuing systems, e.g., SQS Redis Containerization and orchestration, e.g., Docker, Kubernetes Okta, OAuth2, PlainID Monitoring & Alerting, e.g., ELK, Grafana ServiceNow #LI-Hybrid Dimensional offers a variety of programs to help take care of you, your family, and your career, including comprehensive benefits, educational initiatives, and special celebrations of our history, culture, and growth.
