Raytheon is seeking a Senior Principal RF Systems Engineer to perform in a high tempo, dynamic small team environment. This high-performance team is closely integrated with customers and contractors. This team operates at the center of critical US government functions enabling the nation to meet its national security plan and strategic goals. Location: Alexandria, Virginia What You Will Do Serve as a technical authority for RF system performance and work closely with operators and factory systems engineers to maintain reliable collection capabilities. Provide day-to-day engineering support for operational RF collection systems and associated subsystems. Monitor and assess RF system health, performance, availability and operational readiness. Troubleshoot RF signal-chain, antenna, receiver, timing, power, and system integration issues and coordinate with development experts and anomaly resolution teams to resolve complex technical problems. Support integration, configuration and maintenance activities for RF collection capabilities by evaluating changes for potential impacts to RF performance. Develop and execute system-level test procedures to validate system performance following configuration changes. Maintain system documentation, configuration histories, troubleshooting procedures and technical baselines. Support root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive action efforts for recurring system issues. Regularly provide technical inputs, analysis, presentations, training and decision recommendations on RF system performance to keep customer and contractor leadership appraised of activities, deliverables, problems and opportunities. Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 10 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in RF, communications, signals, electronic systems, or RF systems engineering Experience troubleshooting complex RF systems and signal chains. Experience with RF fundamentals including gain/loss, noise figure, dynamic range, sensitivity, and interference. Experience analyzing RF system performance and diagnosing faults using engineering data and test measurements. Experience developing, tailoring and delivering technical presentations for engineering, operations, customer and contractor teams. Experience in presentations with senior leadership customer and contractor teams on complex issues. An active and transferable TS/SCI with CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance. Qualifications We Prefer Experience with deployed RF systems and field engineering. Experience supporting systems through deployment, sustainment, upgrades and lifecycle management. Experience with software-designed radio architecture and RF receivers. Experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar tools for RF data analysis and test automation. The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
