Job description
The Red Hat Software Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated student who can join us in the Brno office and who wants to gain hands-on experience with open source and Red Hat products. In this role, you will work on observability solutions for the strategic Secure Software Supply Chain using which Red Hat delivers all our software to the customers, as part of a team of software engineers from different geographies. During the internship, you will get hands-on experience with different observability tools, and contribute to designing and implementing new solutions used by our internal teams such as Site Reliability Engineering, and also by our key user groups.
At Red Hat, you’ll work in an environment that welcomes diverse perspectives, values great ideas, and empowers individuals to contribute meaningfully. Freedom and courage are two of our core values — which means you’ll have the space to take risks, explore the unknown, and grow your strengths. But being a Red Hatter is not just about bravery; it’s also about commitment and follow-through.
Red Hat’s Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. Support users of Red Hat’s Strategic Secure Software Supply Chain to troubleshoot issues with the platform
What you will bring:
You must be enrolled in an accredited university program in the Czech Republic during the full duration of the internship and must be able to join us part-time from February 2027 till January 2028

Basic understanding of observability concepts including metrics, logging and tracing.
Interest in learning new technologies; problem-solving skills
Familiarity with AI coding assistants
Familiarity in using the observability platforms like Grafana.

The following are considered a plus:
Knowledge of containers and OpenShift or Kubernetes and cloud platforms
Experience with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD
Code contributions to or participation in open source projects or code samples on GitHub
Experience with coding assistants
Understanding of observability frameworks, such as OpenTelemetry
Experience with monitoring tools such as Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mimir and Prometheus.
Interested in platform engineering, reliability or observability as a career path
Due to the limited number of internship opportunities and the high volume of applications, we may not be able to speak with every candidate. To maximize your chances of moving forward in the process, please ensure your CV clearly outlines your education, relevant projects (link to your git.hub account), and extracurricular activities.
Please apply for a maximum of three internship roles that best match your interests and skills.
