As a Software Engineer, AI at DigitalOcean, you will join our dynamic AI team within Cloudways, dedicated to integrating cutting-edge AI capabilities into our managed hosting platform. You will report to the AI Engineering Manager and work cross-functionally with platform engineers, product managers, and infrastructure teams. In this role, you'll own the design and implementation of AI-powered features that simplify complex cloud operations, drive automation, and enhance developer experience. The ideal person will be a self-motivated engineer with 3-5 years of experience, capable of working independently on end-to-end AI solutions. What You'll Do: Agentic AI development - Build agents that automate workflows MCP integration - Connect AI agents to existing Cloudways services Existing Agent improvements - AI-driven automation, anomaly detection and improvement Python & PHP - Write production code in both languages Service integration - Work with databases, APIs, and backend systems Basic AI concepts - Prompt engineering, RAG, function calling Cross-team collaboration - Work with product, infra, and other dev teams Why You'll Love Working at DigitalOcean DigitalOcean is committed to fostering a culture where innovation thrives and developers can focus on building. The salary range for this position is based on market data, relevant years of experience, and skills. You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance.
