Job description

The Smart Money Tracking Team builds and operates core treasury infrastructure powering internal funds movement,  balance verification, money reconciliation, and transactions reporting. As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll own complex, often ambiguous technical problems end-to-end: designing event-driven systems, partnering with platform teams, and setting the technical and engineering-practice bar for the team. Responsibilities Own the technical design and delivery of complex, cross-system initiatives spanning balance verification, scheduled rule execution, and event-driven reconciliation. Partner with platform teams to translate business requirements into robust, well-tested system designs. Build  and maintain production-grade services with rigorous automated test coverage. Author and maintain architecture decision records and technical specs, keeping design and implementation in sync throughout delivery. Provide technical leadership and code review for the team, modeling strong engineering practices and mentoring other engineers. Proactively identify and communicate delivery risk, with clear recommendations and recovery plans. Operate effectively through ambiguity,  investigate open questions, document assumptions, and drive stakeholders toward decisions rather than waiting for full clarity. Qualifications 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with demonstrated staff-level ownership of complex, distributed systems. Strong proficiency in Java and the Spring ecosystem; experience with Kafka or stream-processing frameworks (e.g., Flink) is a plus. Experience designing and operating event-driven, high-reliability financial or transactional systems. Deep commitment to automated testing practices, including integration and end-to-end testing as part of the delivery lifecycle. Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar) and schema/migration management in production systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to document design decisions clearly and drive alignment across engineering and business stakeholders. Demonstrated track record of proactively identifying and managing delivery risk, with strong ownership from design through production. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. This position may be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits ). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location. To drive ongoing fair pay for employees, Intuit conducts regular comparisons across categories of ethnicity and gender. The expected base pay range for this position is: New York $202,500 - $274,000
