As a Software Development Engineer on the Risk Technology team, you will help strengthen the platforms that support Schwab’s investment risk solutions. Working across the full software development lifecycle, you will design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable web applications, REST APIs, data integrations, and AI-enabled capabilities using .NET technologies. Your work will improve application performance, engineering productivity, and the quality and reliability of solutions supporting critical business outcomes. You will solve complex production and integration challenges, identify technical risks, and make thoughtful design decisions in a fast-moving environment. Success requires close collaboration with product, architecture, security, and engineering partners across Agile teams. You will also help improve development practices through code reviews, automation, technical guidance, and responsible use of approved generative AI tools. What you have Required qualifications 5+ years of application development experience, including coding, debugging, refactoring, testing, documentation, and code reviews 3+ years of experience with SQL, relational databases, and SQL Server 1+ years of experience developing or integrating REST APIs Proficiency developing client-side and server-side applications using .NET Experience developing and troubleshooting full-stack web applications Experience with Git-based source control, including branching and code merges Experience applying Agile Collaboration within the software development lifecycle Ability to apply Problem Solving and sound technical judgment to complex, time-sensitive issues Experience using approved AI-assisted development tools or Generative AI capabilities to support coding, testing, documentation, or solution delivery Preferred qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline Experience with Angular or another single-page application framework Experience with SSIS or other data integration and ETL tools Experience developing or integrating secure, scalable AI-enabled applications, intelligent workflows, or automation capabilities Experience with DevOps, production support, release management, and CI/CD automation Experience in enterprise cloud environments, cloud-native architecture, Microservices, or containerization Experience building financial services or financial technology applications Ability to support performance, application security, observability, data privacy, and responsible AI practices Ability to collaborate across product, architecture, security, engineering, and distributed development teams Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining quality and delivery commitments In addition to the salary range, this role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
