Position Overview
Autodesk Fusion brings together design, engineering, electronics, and manufacturing in a single product development platform. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Fusion Electronics team and help build the next generation of electronics design capabilities. You are a strong software engineer and systems thinker who enjoys finding simple solutions to complex problems, takes pride in your craft, and thinks about the product and customer, not just the code. You will work across architecture, implementation, and product workflows, taking ownership from design through delivery.
You will also help us build better electronics design workflows that contribute to more sustainable products and manufacturing, turning sustainability goals into meaningful improvements in how products are designed and made.
Responsibilities
Design, build, ship, and iterate on high-quality software for Fusion Electronics
Solve complex engineering problems and contribute to system and software architecture
Own features from design through implementation and delivery
Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to solve customer problems
Help create electronics design workflows that improve engineering and sustainability outcomes
Use modern AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, Copilot, or similar tools effectively throughout the development lifecycle
Contribute to technical direction, engineering practices, and the growth of other engineers
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong software design, architecture, and problem-solving skills
Strong programming skills, including experience with C++ or similar systems programming languages
Experience building and delivering complex, production-quality software
Demonstrated proficiency with AI-assisted development tools combined with strong engineering judgment
Strong communication, collaboration, and ability to learn new technologies and domains
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with CAD, EDA/ECAD, or other complex engineering software
Knowledge of or passion for electronics and electronic product development
Experience developing large-scale desktop applications in C++
Interest or experience in sustainability, manufacturing efficiency, or sustainable product design

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $117,000 and $209,330. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
